Our Philosophy
- Because we believe that Christian education is a Biblical response to God's Word to raise your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, we have chosen materials that cultivate a Christian worldview.
- Because we believe that home schooling is a way of life, we endeavor to compile courses of study that encourage interaction between parents and children, group learning where possible, and reading aloud as a family.
- Because we believe that people should be able to think critically and communicate effectively, our materials reflect a Classical approach including memory work, ancient and world history, Greek and Latin, music and art appreciation, logic, rhetoric, classical literature and biographies.
- Because we believe that it is in the best interest of every child to be truly ready before they enter into a formal education experience, we have not included a Kindergarten program in our regular course of study. We will, however, provide a readiness program for eager 5 year olds.
- Because we believe that children should have plenty of time to think and develop their personal and family interests, we encourage formal instruction to be limited to 2 - 5 hours per day, depending on the age of the child.
- Because we believe that people should look not only to their own interests, but equally to the interests of others, we encourage you to include service as an integral component of your child's learning experience.
- Because we believe in responsible stewardship of the resources that God has given us, we use non-consumable materials where possible, so as to reduce the cost of books significantly as younger siblings come along.
