Various Modern Languages: 1 Credit per level Many home educators desire to have their children ex-posed to a more oral approach to second language instruc-tion. They also may want to have them learn one or more modern languages (ex. French, Spanish, German, Dutch). To facilitate this desire we recommend use of one of the excellent computer based language programs on the market today. Both Rosetta Stone and Tell Me More offer solid instruction in conversa-tional aspects of a language allowing the student to learn from a native speaker and to come away with a high school level knowl-edge of the vocabulary and grammatical constructs of the language of their choice. The best part about this approach is that these pro-grams are “self monitoring”. Just register the student on the pro-gram and you will be able to generate a report of student progress at any time. Submit this report and we will grant appropriate sec-ond language credit. As with any study of a second language, this approach works best when two or more students are working through the material together.
Average Number of Hours: 15 to 30 minutes daily Evaluation: Final report generated from computer program. Texts: Rosetta Stone or Tell Me More Computer Programs Tuition: $10.00
